Instead, I refer you to Wilderness Experience co-founder Jim Thomsen's website (link below) when he chronicles a potted history of the company, with a
variety of photos and catalogue scans.
He also makes some claims for Wilderness Experience's role as a pioneering innovator in the outdoor industry
• first outdoor company to switch to plastic buckles and hardware
• first to manufacture a shelled jacket with a zip out fleece liner
• first US outdoor company to be publicly listed on the stock market
• made Baggies style shorts long before Patagonia did
• prototyped a hydration pack for endurance sports long before Camelbak
